PET SITTING.

WHAT AREAS DO YOU PET SIT IN?

From the D'Agulair highway south to Esk.

(Harlin, Ivory Creek, Toogoolawah, Esk, Braemore, Yimbun, Cressbrook, Coal Creek, Gregors Creek, Mt Beppo).

I HAVE LARGE ANIMALS AND SMALL ANIMALS WHAT DO YOU CHARGE FOR A MIXED BAG?

It all depends on how involved the visits are and how many times you want your animals visited.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN YOUR PRICING AND THAT AT KENNELS FOR DOGS AND CATS?

Most kennels will charge from $21.00 per dog per day, and from $15.00 per cat per day (ie including two feeds).

So at a kennel:            2 dogs and 1 cat will cost a minimum of $57.00 per day.

2 dogs and 2 cats will cost $72.00 per day.

3 dogs will cost a mimimum of $63.00 per day.

I charge $15.00 a visit for up to 3 small animals (ie dogs, cats, chook runs*), therefore for two feeds/checks/loves a day for 3 animals is $30.00. Any extra animals are charged at $5.00 a visit, i.e. the cost for 4 animals is $35.00.

* NOTE: chook runs, guinea pig hutches are classed as one small animal.

MICROCHIPPING.

I am giving my puppies/kittens away do they still have to be microchipped?

Yes, this is now compulsory throughout QLD.

I am buying a dog or cat (any age)?

As of 1 July 2009, all dogs and cat sold after this time are to be microchipped.

At what age can my puppies/kittens be microchipped?

Puppies and kittens have to be a minimum of 8 weeks of age before they can be microchipped and have to be done before they are 12 weeks of age.

HORSE CLIPPING.

What areas do you do horse clipping in?

I cover the areas from Gatton to Bribie Island with my horse clipping service.

Does my horse need to be clean before clipping?

Yes horses need to be clean and dry for a good clip to be obtained. Dirt, sweat and wet hair causes the clippers to leave lines in the hair, and dirt causes the clipper blades to become blunt quicker and a below avaerage clip will occur.

How long before a show does my horse need to be clipped?

It is recommended that your horse is clipped about 10 days before a show to allow the colour in the horse to "come out" again. (I have clipped horses as close as 3 days before a show, but these horses had hot oil treatments everyday before the show and colour enhancer shampoos)

Will my horse need extra rugging?

The simple answer to this is YES, but it is all dependant on whether or not your horse is stabled or solely in the paddock.

Dog Clipping

Do you do dog clipping?

Yes I do dog clipping.

Areas covered are from Harlin to Esk for clipping at you house. Other areas in the Somerset Regional Council area can be done with arrangement.

Strategic Worming

What is Strategic Worming?

Many properties are worming many of their animals more than what is needed.  For example if you worm every 6-8 weeks, for one horse this is an average cost of $160-$120 a year in wormers.

Some horses have their own resistance to worms and many only need to be wormed on average 2-3 times a year. These token wormings are strategically placed to target the worms/bots when in the horse not the environment, giving you a saving of at least $60.00 year. This all adds up if your property has more than one horse on it.

If I follow your horses worm egg out put for 6-8 months (to try to have 2 worm treatments) with monthly feacal egg counts I will be able to give you an idea of how many times a year you need to worm your horse.
